Genting Highlands- Theme Park Hotel (formerly known as Hotel on the Park)

-12th August 2017-

We had a short trip up to Genting Highlands to celebrate Nicole's early birthday.
Little did we know, it was also the day where Genting held the Good Vibes Festival 2017.
The traffic was quite bad towards reaching the top but other than that it was quite okay.

The Hotel that we stayed was previously known as Hotel on the Park. The place is really damn awesome. You can choose a room for two, four or six. We took the sixers room.

The price per night was RM600. You might need to check out few other booking sites to scout for a good bargain.

Damn awesome right!

The Floor Map

The sixers consist of 3 queen size beds. Two on the bottom while one on the top.
Nicole & I slept on the top (bunk bed area).

Cutely decorated television!

Here's a video of the room which I found from their webpage.

The only cons that I dislike about this room is that, there's no changing room.
It's either you get changed in the bathroom or toilet. Either way, both rooms are super tiny.
It makes it difficult if you are changing into a long skirt or jeans. It might get wet in the process.

Before we started off with our 2D1N trip to Genting, we had our breakfast at Hoong Foong Dim Sum.The variety of dim sum there is crazy. I'm drooling just by looking at the photo now. Gosh!

Our RM100+ breakfast.
Okay the price is quite expensive here

After filling up our grumpy tummies, it was time to roll.
Before heading to Genting, we made a pit stop at the newly open Genting Premium Outlet.
The crowd was quite good. Unfortunately, nothing caught my attention.

Had our light lunch at George & Dragon Cafe, Genting Premium Outlet.
Total bill for 2 pizza, a plate of bangers and mash, fries and few drinks amounting close to RM200.

Last but not least, we went to Cafes Richard in Genting for dinner. Initial plan was to dine in Burgers & Lobsters, but the queue was damn crazy long. I think it will take us roughly 2 hours just to wait. Plus that was around 9pm already, yet the queue was super long.

So our second best option was Cafes Richard lor.
I think we did a good choice for dining in the latter one because :-

1) Price is way cheaper than Burgers & Lobsters
2) Don't need to wait like orang gila
3) Food taste damn good!
4) The ONE and ONLY branch in Malaysia besides France
5) And it's a fine dining concept leh!

Coffee in a wine glass for a change maybe?

There were four options to choose from starting from starters, main course and desserts.

Starters:-

1)Escargot
2) Pan-seared scallops
3) Classic French onion soup
4) Salad

Most of us opted for escargots and scallops. I personally chose scallops and the scallops come in a very generous size! Sedap betul sampai air liur meleleh makan.

Escargots a.k.a siput babi (nama tak glamour)

Scallops

For the main courses, we had one each.

Magret de Canard A L'Orange
Roasted French Duck with orange sauce served with potatoes gratin and brussels sprouts

Poulet Chasseur
Charboiled chicken with mushroom sauce served with green salad and pommes frites

Boeuf Bourguignon
Slow-cooked beef stew served with mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans

Saumon Roti
Fresh Norwegian Salmon, slow baked in the oven "en papillote" drizzled with lemon butter sauce and served with new potatoes and carrots.

All of us were having difficult time to finish our dessert.

Creme Brulee

 Poire Belle Helene
Poached pear with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

French Chocolate Mousse

Happy 100th Birthday PRINCESS!

Malaysia - Sabah - Kota Kinabalu - (Island Hoping at Tunku Abdul Rahman Park)

Besides being well known for their top diving spot island - Pulau Sipadan, you can also visit the other islands in Sabah which is located in Kota Kinabalu.

If you are too afraid of being kidnap in Sipadan (lol), maybe you can opt for a safer yet beautiful option and also cheaper compared to Sipadan Island.

There are few islands around Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. In order to get there, we need to gather around Jesselton Point ferry terminal to purchase our choice of islands to hop around.

The price per island cost RM23 each, RM33 for two, RM43 for 3 and RM53 for 4 islands.
The list of popular islands are as such:-

1) Manukan Island
2) Mamutik Island
3) Sapi Island
4) Sulug Island
5) Gaya Island

We took 3 island for the price of RM43 (Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi). You will also be charged another extra RM7.60 per person for the terminal fee and another additional one time payment of RM3 for admission fee for all the islands (make sure to keep the receipt or else you will be charged again for entering another island)

Roughly about 15-20 minutes ride from the terminal to our very first Island - Pulau Mamutik

Our sole purpose for the island hoping was not for any scuba diving or any water sports because we were too lazy to shower and get changed.

We just wanted to chill and of course take zillions of photos!
Oh and also to ogle around. Haha! Lucky us because the entire island was filled with KOREANS that day. Ahhhh this is what I called PARADISE baby.

Nothing can go wrong when there's boobs and beach.
My life is complete.

#Friendshipgoals

Our second stop was at Pulau Manukan.
This island was not that pretty for photo taking compared to Mamutik. So make sure you take lots of nice pictures while you're in Mamutik.

We did nothing in Manukan except for having our lunch there.

Our final stop was Pulau Sapi and luckily we decided to try the ZIP LINER.
It's worth the money.

The price per person for zip liner was RM68 which gave you only around 15-20 seconds ride BUT that 20 seconds were really worth it. Imagine you were flying above the sea level from one island to another! Holy Moly! Surrounded by beautiful clear sea. It's once in a lifetime experience.

We zipline from Pulau Gaya (right-hand island) all the way to Pulau Sapi (the island on the left-hand). Damn syok giler wei.

Waiting for our equipments.

We need to hike to the top for 10 minutes while wearing and carrying our equipments along.

There's a video of us ziplining but I'm too lazy to post it because I was the only one who got caught in the middle of the sea. Apparently my body weight was not heavy enough to touch the finishing line.
#FML

Am I supposed to be happy or sad?

So I was left in the middle of the sea for almost 5 minutes okay!
Scary but fun at the same time.

Waiting for my Hero to the rescue. LOL.

Kena tarik balik finishing line.

The guys who rescued me were laughing and he said that I'm not heavy enough and should eat more.
O____O
Excuse me? Hello? Say what?

All in all, it was a great experience. Would love to do that again in the future.

We went to Mad Ben for dinner that night.
The food was surprisingly good.

That's the end of my Kota Kinabalu trip.
xoxo
